Agrupación Deportiva Almería, established in 1971, was the emblematic football club of Almería during the 1970s. Known for its red and white colors, the team played at the Estadio Municipal Juan Rojas and achieved an extraordinary ascent from Segunda División B to La Liga in just two seasons. In its first top‑flight campaign, AD Almería finished ninth, a remarkable result for a recently promoted side. The club also spent a second season in La Liga, competing against the country’s biggest teams.
